Watch List notes:

10 marks 1940 without watermark but with font type 2 - VERY RARE
10 marek 1940 num.typ 2 ale bez znaku wodnego - EKSTREMALNIE RZADKIE

Extremely rare varity that so far has not been recorded in the numismatic literature. Print on paper without watermarks, but with 'O' in NO double underlined that so far was reserved for banknotes printed on watermarked paper. Some authors claimed that this type of font has not been used in Lodz getto but they based their resarch only on common 20 mark with similar type of font and the existance of 10 mark has never been mentioned. Currently many agree that this very distinctive type of font has been used only on the last pieces that were put into circulation. In the case of 20 mark this type of font can be easily seen at the auctions but 10 mark for the first time is being offered at the Polish auction. So far we have recorded only 4 pieces which highlights how rare is this variety.

This particular piece is in beautifull, almost uncirculated condition with only a light fold at upper left corner. Other corners are slightly rounded. No vertical or horizontall folds. Paper is firm with natural shine. True rarity in great condition for advanced collections of camp and getto money.

Niezwykle rzadka odmiana, nie odnotowywana w literaturze. Druk na papierze bez znaków wodnych, lecz z charakterystycznym numeratorem z przesunięciami oraz NO z podwójnym podkreśleniem. Typowa dla tej bardzo rzadkiej odmiany końcowa numeracja. Numerator błędnie określany jako fałszywy, aczkolwiek właśnie istnienie tej bardzo rzadkiej 10 markówki podważa tą teorie, zaś wysoka numeracja, podobnie jak przy nominale 20 marek utwierdza nas w przekonaniu, że numerator z 'przesunięciami' został użyty do ostatnich, wypuszczonych egzemplarzy. O ile w przypadku 20 marek numerator ten jest względnie pospolity, to w przypadku 10 marek jest to pierwsze notowanie aukcyjne tego banknotu na rynku aukcyjnym. Znane nam są cztery sztuki z tym numeratorem, które odnotowaliśmy na przestrzeni ostatnich 10 lat.

Egzemplarz w pięknym, naturalnym i nieobiegowym stanie zachowania. Delikatnie ugięty lewy, górny narożnik oraz drobna nieświeżości w obrębie pozostałych. Banknot bez złamań, czy też ugięć w polu z doskonale zachowaną kolorystyką oraz połyskiem druku. Duża rzadkość w pięknym stanie zachowania.
