Montreal, PQ- Banque D'Hochelaga $10; $100 March 1, 1907 Ch. # 360-18-08P; 360-18-20P Proofs. A lovely pair of black-and-white Face Proofs from this major Montreal institution, which received its charter in 1873, went on to become the dominant French speaking bank in Canada, with 197 branches, mostly in Quebec, by 1924. In that year, assisted by the Provincial Government of Quebec, it merged with the financially distressed La Banque Nationale, with the merged entity changing its name to Banque Canadienne Nationale in 1925. The two proofs, graded by PMG as Superb Gem Unc 67 EPQ and Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ, respectively, represent notes that are unknown in issued form. From the Feeling Good Collection HID08701242017
