East Africa Currency Board 100 Shillings = £5 1.9.1943 Pick 31bs Specimen. This denomination became the largest in circulation after the larger notes of the 1921 King George V series were not re-introduced. Excellent colors are seen on this grandly sized example which represented a significant amount of purchasing power. Heavy embossing especially of the denomination is evident from the back. Annotations in the margin further help to date this note, and identify it as a working Specimen. Previous mounting on the left side is also noted. PMG Choice Extremely Fine 45.
