Tangier Spanish Occupation World War II Servicios Municipales 1 Franco 3.1942 Pick 3 Schwan-Boling SB103a-c. Spanish troops occupied the Tangier International Zone on June 14, 1940 as Paris fell that same day to the advancing Germans. The fortunes of war saw Francoist Spain expel all German diplomats from the Zone in May 1944. The Zone was restored to its pre-war status on October 11, 1945. This Series B example of this rare note grades PMG Very Fine 25 with stains, which are light. The last eight years have seen very few of these brought to auction. In fact, a couple of damaged Pick 3 notes in the lesser grades of raw VG and Fine have traded hands in the $900-$1,000 range. HID08701242017
