Grand River, NL- Grand River Pulp & Lumber Co. 5¢ ND (ca. 1900) Ch. # UNL Three Examples. The Charlton reference only lists denominations of $1, $2 and $5 for this issuer. The round central design on these three well margined, uniface notes features a lumber cutting scene. The company was owned by Nova Scotian investors. It is believed this scrip, printed by T.C. Allen & Co. Stationers Printers etc. Halifax, was issued to the company's workers in the early 1900's. The scrip was redeemable in "goods or currency." PMG Gem Uncirculated 64 or better.
