Great Britain Treasury Notes 10 Shillings ND (1915) Pick 384b. During World War I these notes were introduced to resolve the lack of the denomination which was previously filled by half sovereigns. The treasury was authorized to print these small denomination notes, and hence the signature of Secretary to the Treasury John Bradbury. These notes issued for the Dardanelles Campaign have the black overprint "60 Silver Piastres" as they were to be used in the Ottoman Empire. PMG Very Fine 20, thinning. HID08701242017
