Zeugitana, Carthage. Electrum Stater (7.48g), ca. 320-270 BC. Wreathed head of Tanit facing left wearing collar necklace and triple-pendant earring, dot on neck. Reverse: Horse standing on single exergual line, dot between hind legs. Boldly struck on both sides in high relief; all in deep yellow electrum. Wonderful portrait of Tanit with a pronounced nose. The surfaces are excellent and of the finest metal quality. We note a small area of fine hairlines on the reverse above the horse. From finely executed dies.
