Framed Vellum Book of Hours Page. France, XV Century. Vellum page from Book of Hours prayer book with red, blue and gold capital letters and decoration. Text in late Medieval French. Framed side has prayers including one entitled "Bon et bref regime", good and short routine; ending with "oy, voy, parle poy, Se tu parle garde tpy, de qui to parles et de quoi", viz. "Oh, watch, speak carefully; if you speak, take care, of how and what you say". Verso (also visible in frame) is a table for determining Ash Wednesday and Easter from 1488 to 1508 AD. In wooden frame for display. Page: 3.5 x 5". Wonderful display and very interesting.
