Pre-Union crowned cruciform shields, roses and plumes in alternate angles, six strings to Irish harp, garter star at centre, date either side of top crown, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, .MAG: BR: FRA. ET. HIB: REG:, edge inscribed in raised letters of inverted orientation to obverse, .+ DECVS. ET. TVTAMEN. ANNO. REGNI. SEXTO, weight 15.00g (Bull 1362; ESC 573; C&R 583 R; S.3582). Attractively toned, with a few tiny black flecks both sides, otherwise extremely fine.
