Elizabeth II (1952-), gold two coin Proof Set, 2012, Official London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic gold Five Pound pieces, same obverse for both, fourth crowned head right, IRB initials below for designer Ian Rank-Broadley, denomination and date in Latin legend with raised rim surrounding, ELIZABETH. II. D. G. REG. F. D FIVE POUNDS. 2012, rev. Olympic reverse designed by Saiman Miah, view of River Thames and London land marks LONDON 2012 above, all within circle, 2012 trade mark logo in colour above, twelve sports depicted in circuit around the coin; Paralympic reverse designed by Pippa Sanderson, circular design showing one third as a spoked wheel, one third as an archery target with LONDON 2012 in outer circle, final third with clock faces, 2012 trade mark logo in colour upon stop watch in part divided by a clock hand with that of Big Ben clock face, edge milled, weight 39.94g each (S.OGS10). FDC as issued in original case and packaging with certificate of authenticity number "0271", though each coin had a total edition limit of at least 2,012 pieces, Coin Yearbook 2018 gives the actual number issued of the Olympic Commemorative in gold as 1,045 pieces though is silent re the Paralympic issued number, rare.
