Elizabeth II (1952-), gold Proof Fifty Pence, 2016, 950th Anniversary of the Battle of Hastings, Trial of the Pyx limited edition, struck on heptagonal flan, fifth crowned head right, initials J.C below for designer Jody Clark, legend and raised rim surrounding, ELIZABETH. II. D. G. REG. F. D. 50 PENCE., rev. depiction of King Harold standing left trying to pull arrow from eye, 10 to left, 66 to right, initials JB to lower right of wavy ground line for designer John Bergdahl, date below, BATTLE OF HASTINGS surrounding (cf.S.H32). Some light handling marks both sides from being tested at the trial, good extremely fine sealed in a tamper evident security pack and special folder with booklet about the Trial of the Pyx and the Goldsmith's Company, hand signed certificate from the Queen's Assay Master Graeme Smith as only 8 coins were packaged this way though not individually numbered, such a limited edition that it does not appear in the Standard Catalogue, very rare presented as such.
