Charles I (1625-49), silver obsidional Newark Shilling, 1645, Royal crown, C to left, R to right, denomination below in Roman numerals, beaded border both sides, rev. three line inscription and date, OBS: / NEWARK / 1645, weight 6.31g (Brooker 1225; N.2640; S.3143). The whole flan gilt, one small rim split, test mark at one edge, otherwise good fine.
