Charles II (1660-85), gold Guinea, 1677, fourth laureate head right, legend surrounding, CAROLVS.II. DEI. GRATIA, toothed border around rim both sides, rev. crowned cruciform shields, sceptres in angles, four interlinked Cs at centre, date either side of top crown, MAG. BR. FRA. ET. HIB. REX., weight 8.42g (Schneider 444; MCE 76; S.3344). Toned with light surface marks, a bold very fine with a decent face.
