William and Mary (1688-94), gold Guinea, 1689, conjoined busts right, legend surrounding, GVLIELMVS. ET. MARIA. DEI. GRATIA, toothed border around rim both sides, rev. crowned quartered shield of arms, later Irish harp, Lion of Nassau as an escutcheon at centre, date either side of crown, .MAG. BR. FR. ET. HIB. REX. ET. REGINA., weight 8.33g (Schneider 467; MCE 148; S.3426). Light tone with residual brilliance around margins, some light haymarking on obverse, some other hairlines, otherwise a bold to good very fine.
