THESSALY, Pherai. Circa 460-440 BC. AR Drachm (18.5mm, 5.42 g, 8h). The hero Thessalos right, holding band around the head of bull right / ΦE R/A I around from upper left, bridled horse cantering right; to left, lion's head fountain right, from which water pours forth; all within incuse square. BCD Thessaly II 682 (same rev. die); HGC 4, 546. Near VF, toned, rough surfaces. Rare.
