Pair of gold earrings. Roman, 2nd-3rd centuries AD. Each with a round shield decorated with a repousse facing head framed by a rope like border. Short pendants now missing beads. Overall lengths (including loops): approx. 2.8cm; diameter of shields: 1.4cm. Earthen deposits and light. The loop on one a modern addition.
