ISLANDS OFF IONIA, Chios. Circa 133-88 BC. Drachm (Silver, 20 mm, 3.51 g, 12 h), Metas, magistrate. Sphinx with curved wings seated to left; before to left, bunch of grapes; all within dotted border. Rev. MHTAΣ - XIOΣ Large amphora; to left, star; all within vine wreath. BMC -. Mavrogordato 66β. Darkly toned. The obverse a bit rough, otherwise, good very fine.
