Gordian III, 238-244. As (Copper, 23 mm, 8.60 g, 12 h), Rome, 241-243. IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian III to right, seen from behind. Rev. VIRTVTI AVGVSTI / S - C Hercules standing front, head to right, his right hand on hip and leaning with his left on club set on rock; beside club, the skin of the Nemean lion. Cohen 406. RIC 309. Minor flan crack and the reverse struck from a worn die, otherwise, very fine.
