Weymouth was George III's favourite holiday destination. He first came in 1789 with Queen Charlotte and their four eldest daughters. He returned in 1791 and then every year until 1805, excepting 1793 and 1803. Brown's footnote comments on some examples of the medal having, as on this specimen, the space for 'WEYMOUTH' left blank.
