(x) Stephen (1135-54), Penny, 1.38g, Cross Moline ('Watford') type, Stamford, Lefsi, crowned and diademed bust right, holding sceptre in right hand, rev. lefsi ; on : stanf, cross moline, fleur in each angle (Mack 34a; N.873; S.1278), very legible, almost as struck but soft in the centre, good fine / very fine, a scarce mint.

The Watford hoard of 1,127 Pennies and cut Halfpennies was found in a clay jar in 1818 and preserved intact, eventually coming into the possession of Jonathan Rashleigh.
