(x) Henry of Anjou (c.1150), Penny, 1.02g, Hereford, Sibern, hen[ricvs], crowned and draped bust to right, holding sceptre, rev. quadrilateral on cross fleury (Mack 253c - this coin; SCBI 20 (Mack) 1640 - this coin; N.940/2; S.1329), on a full round flan, the reverse off centre and slightly double-struck, otherwise very fine with a clear portrait, deeply toned, extremely rare.

Mack describes the reverse as 'illegible'. He does however observe that the reverse die could well be the same as his number 248 which reads sibern ; on : herefor. The Numismatic Circular listing gives the reverse legend si[bern on h]erefor.
