This extraordinary coin can be linked to the reign of Eukratides I by the use of the same monogram that appears on his very rare gold staters. Though this monogram was also used by the Indo-Greek kingdom, notably on tetradrachms of Apollodotos I, the latter is not known to have struck coins in gold.
