Pamphylia, Perga. 2nd-1st centuries B.C. Æ (17 mm, 3.63 g, 12 h). Simulacrum of Artemis Pergaia within distyle shrine; c/m: sphinx seated right within circular incuse / [A]PTEM[I]Σ [Π]EPΓAIAΣ, bow and bow-case. Colin S7.1, dies 1.2/1.2, specimen b (this coin); SNG Pfalz 223. Nice strong countermark. Wonderful dark green patina with attractive sandy highlights. Very fine.

Colin notes three other specimens of this issue with sphinx countermark on the obverse, two in the collection of the American Numismatic Society in New York, and one in Vienna. He noted that this particular coin comes from a private collection in Cancio, Washington (USA).
