A damru (or damaru) is a two-headed drum associated with Hindusim and Tibetan Buddhism. In Hindusim, it is considered the instrument of Lord Shiva, and he is shown playing it during his cosmic dance.  This specimen depicts Lakshmi and was cast in the damru shape. It is rich in early Indian sacred symbolism.
