Shivadatta. 1st century B.C. Æ (13 mm, 0.88 g). Elephant standing left, with indradhvaja to left and Brahmi legend (Si)vadatasa above / Tree-in-railing with miscellaneous symbols to left; all within a large circle. Cf. Pieper 1011. Very rare. Brown patina. Good fine. 

These early cast coins of Ayodhya are very hard to find. These were issued after the collapse of Sunga rule and prior to the arrival of the Kushans.
