Huvishka. Ca. A.D. 155-ca. 187. Æ tetradrachm (26 mm, 12.66 g). King holding
ankush and seated on elephant standing right, with traces of Greek legend around / Female lunar deity (Ardoksho or Mao?) standing right, with lunar crescents on both shoulders, and holding protome of animal; tamgha to right. Unpublished in the standard references. Very rare. Rough green patina. Very fine.
The goddess on reverse could be Ardoksho, but she also has attributes of Mao, the male lunar deity. An interesting combination we've not seen before.
