Munnabih. Ca. 912/3. AR dramma (10 mm, 0.49 g). Sharda legend (Sri) Adi/(va)raha / Arabic legend Lillah Munnabih at bottom, with three-dot motif above. Goron & Goenka, AM1; Album 1503. Rare and superb. Toned. Choice very fine.

Most drammas of the amirs of Multan are on thinner, broader flans. This type seems much rarer, for all rulers. Â

Munnabih takes the title Sri Adivaraha, drawing on the boar avatar of Lord Vishnu. This name also refers to the powerful Gurjura-Pratihara ruler Bhoja I (836-885 AD), who used the name Adivaraha on his coins. Â

A similar specimen sold for $120 in Stephen Album's Auction 28 (Lot 2123).Â
