Post-Roman Gaul, Visigoths (c. 5th Century BC), AV Solidus, in the style of Valentinian III, 4.39g, 'Ravenna', possibly struck at Toulouse, diademed and draped bust right, rev. Emperor standing facing, foot on serpent, holding long cross and Victory on globe, 'r-v' in fields, 'comob' in exergue (RIC X, no. 3715; MEC 168), softness to periphery, otherwise very fine, unusual.
