Belgae, uninscribed coinage (c. 55-45 BC), silver Unit, 'Danebury Spear' type, 1.23g, boar left with hairy mane, pelleted annulets and serpentine motif in surrounding fields, four decorated crescent above, rev. stylised horse galloping left, pelleted-annulets and sun (?) in surrounding fields (VA 867 - Corieltauvi B, 'Hostidius' types; BMC -; S -; ABC 869), well-centred on an otherwise elongated and irregular flan, a pleasing very fine, extremely rare.
