A remarkable and rare square shaped celadon glazed base or pedestal
This piece of art is likely to be part of a square shaped vase. The hollow base flares outwards to a straight rim, both decorated by delicate cutaway patterns and openings, accentuated by relief on the sides. Moreover, it is decorated with two dragons and two flowers and on the rim with squares and rectangles. The four corners are decorated with moulded animal figures. This celadon vase is covered in green glaze. The interior inclining rim remained unglazed and burned is reddish-brown in the firing as it is characteristic of the period.
