A very attractive decorative Sancai-glazed stoneware jar
The well-curved globular body is surmounted by a short neck with a lipped everted rim. The broad shoulder is bearing four leaf-shaped appliques, covered in a mixture of ochre and green glaze running in rivulets from the mouth over the body. In certain areas we find a fine iridescence. The underside is unglazed, exposing the greyish-white pottery beneath.
Height: 8.5cm
Style of: Tang (618-907), age determination uncertain
