An important and very rare small Celadon Tripod Censer
The well-rounded body is raised on three inwardly bent, unglazed splayed feet (as is typical of the period) and surmounted by a cylindrical neck rising to a flat, everted rim. The underside remains unglazed, showing signs of concentric rings and a central protrusion (both characteristics of the period). This censer is covered in an attractive and finely crackled lavender-blue glaze, featuring a small purplish part on the body due to the copper in the Chün-glaze.
Height: 7cm
Style of: Early Song (960-1279), Origin: Honan, age determination uncertain
