A remarkability special and attractive hare's-fur (Jian) glazed pottery jar
This jar is of baluster form (pomegranate), the sloping shoulders are surmounted by a very short neck with a lipped, everted rim. Furthermore, the shoulders and body are covered in a dark-brown glaze with lightly tinted sloping stripes (called "Jian" due to it's hare's-fur like glaze). The underside and foot ring are unglazed, exposing the brown colour of the pottery.

Height: 16cm

Style of: Southern Song (1127 – 1279), age determination uncertain
