A very rare and ine Jizhou tortoiseshell-glazed bowl (Chi-Chou)
Deep sides rise from a small circular foot covered on the interior and exterior with a black glaze splashed with russet to give the effect of a tortoiseshell. The interior is decorated in resist technique with a paper-cut decoration of fine patterns of leaves.
