A very rare and attractive light green jade carving of a bear
Calcified to a creamy white. The bear sits, holding its paws before it. With small oval eyes and two small holes in its neck. Its back decorated in high relief with motifs characteristic of the Shang period. Accompanies by a small round wooden pedestal.

Height: 5.5cm

Style of: Shang (1400 BC – 1100 BC : Anyang phase), age determination uncertain
