An important and rare small spinach-green jade carving of an elephant
The elephant is well carved, of rich colour with some calcination. Standing with its trunk curled forward and two elegantly carved tusks. Its body decorated with double lined incised geometric motifs, characteristic of the Shang period, as well as the shape of the ears and eyes.
