An extremely fine large dark green carving of a water buffalo-like figure
Well carved in recumbent position, its great body leaning slightly to one side, with its head down, with watchful pointed oval eyes characteristic of the period, a broad snout with a lined mouth, smooth sharp horns sweeping back above its flat ears, its rounded feet clawed. Its haunches emphasised with incised scrolls, its back and sides decorated in high relief with archaic curving motifs and lines. The dark green jade with some grey mottling.
