A finely carved white jade mythical beast, "Bixie"
Recumbent, with its clawed paws tucked beneath it's body, its right front paw reclined back, its head raised, slightly turned to the left, with large grinning mouth and deep-set eyes framed by striated brows. Its back decorated with incised lame-like motifs, with a bony bifurcate tail, ending in a curl. The stone of the pale tone with strands of darker marbling.
Length: 17cm
Style of: Ming (1368 – 1644) or older, age determination uncertain
