An extremely fine and important inscribed bronze tripod ritual vessel "Ding"
The deep round body supported on three cylindrical legs decorated with a band of Taotie masks with raised central lines over the nose, the lipped rim with two upright looped handles, a smooth band below the rim, the body decorated with large Taotie masks above the legs with a large central raised line over the nose, reaching from leg to rim band, on leiwen ground, with vertical division lines. The underside inscribed with 14 lines of text describing the "expensive manufacturing of this ritual vase". Outside a beautiful, bright green patina, inside heavy patina and signs of adherences.
