A beautiful and extremely fine painted wooden statue of a Bodhisattva
Standing on a small lotus base, the right hand raised in the Abhaya-mudra pose (freedom from fear) and the left holding a part of the draped tunic, intricately carved, the face with closed eyes and mouth with upturned sides in a slight smile, with long dark hair and wearing a head-piece, typical folds in the neck bearing a simple necklace, painted with various colours over a layer of crème plaster, carved from a single piece of wood.
