British West Africa Currency Board, specimen uniface £1000, 20 April 1954, serial number A/A 000000, black and white, bank title in ornate script in field, value in grey tablet low left, five signatures of Bereseford-Stooke, Williamson, Fisher, Vile and Galsworthy low centre(Pick 11A. TBB B112as), small SPECIMEN perforation low right. A few of these examples apeared more than a decade ago but have disappeared into collections. A rare and handsome example, uncirculated and rare.
