El Banco de Espana, an essay/trial obverse and reverse 1000 pesetas, Burgos, 18 July 1937, grey, pale orange and pink, value at centre, low left and top right. Portrait at left of a bearded man wearing a ruff, possibly Alvaro de Bazan or possibly the Genoese Admiral Andrea Doria who fought for the Spanish and the Holy League against the Ottoman navy at the battle of Lepanto, reverse black, violet and green, the Battle of Pavia at centre(Pick unrecorded), the obverse and reverse PCGS Currency 62 New and 64 Very Choice New respectively. Printed in Milan, attractive and very rare (1 pair).
