UMAYYAD: AE Fals (3.38g), Ba'albakk, AH 80-90s. Unusual arrangement of second half of Kalima is "Allah, rasul, Muhammad" in reverse, unread word or symbol after the mint name. unpublished in Walker. Choice very fine. Extremely rare.
A very unusual and interesting instance on Islamic coins where the phrase "Muhammad rasul Allah" is written in reverse as "Allah, rasul, Muhammad", resembling the famous Seal of the prophet Muhammad, where "Allah" is placed at the uppermost for respect.
There appears to be only one auction record of this example, appearing in Stephen Album's Auction 22 (lot 194), sold for $155 even though Album does not acknowledge the high rarity of this variety.
