BAKTRIA, Greco-Baktrian Kingdom. Eukratides I, circa 170-145 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 33 mm, 16.32 g, 12 h), circa 162-145. Diademed and draped bust of Eukratides to right, wearing Macedonian helmet adorned with bull's horn and ear. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ MEΓAΛOΥ / EΥKΡATIΔOΥ The Dioskouri galloping to right, each holding spear and palm branch; to lower right, monogram. Bopearachchi Series 6W, 40. Mitchiner 177f. SNG ANS 469-471. A lovely, lightly toned example. Minor flan fault on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
