AY K T AI AΔPIA ANTΩNЄINOC Laureate and cuirassed bust of Antoninus Pius to right, breastplate decorated with gorgoneion. Rev. KOINON ACIAC / ЄΦЄCIΩN Cult-statue of Artemis Ephesia with kalathos standing facing, with supports, between two stags; to left, Nike standing right, holding palm frond over her left shoulder and crowning Artemis with wreath; to right, turreted female (Asia?) standing front, head to left, holding patera in her right hand and scepter with her left. A beautifully struck and very impressive piece with wonderful earthen highlights. Good very fine.
