Byzantine Weights, Circa 6th-7th century. Weight of 18 Nomismata (Bronze, 42 mm, 80.00 g), a thick discoid commercial weight with centering holes, raised rims and double-grooved edge. N - IH with Latin cross above and stylized modius (?) with volutes to left and right below; above and below N, pellet-in-annulets; all details engraved and punched; in the center, centering hole within four concentric circles; all within large incuse circle within raised outer rim.
