Anonymous. Amulet (Bronze, 40 mm, 19.28 g), circa 5th-6th century (?). Turquoise engraved with a laureate, draped and cuirassed male bust to right, set in a green glass bezel. Rev. Blank. A carefully produced and beautifully engraved piece. Minor marks and with a small hole for suspension as made, otherwise, good very fine.


It is hard to assign a date to this beautiful glass amulet, but the style and fine workmanship indicate that it is probably late Roman or early Byzantine.
