CELTIC, Northwest Gaul. Aulerci Diablintes. Circa 100-50 BC. Stater (Silver, 20 mm, 6.30 g, 8 h), 'à la situle' type. Celticized laureate head of Apollo to right, the hair in long curls with a strand falling loose before the forehead. Rev. Devolved charioteer, driving cart drawn by a centaur to right, holding reins with his right hand and long branch ending in a vexillum-like banner in his left; below, male figure standing right. DT 2169. LT 6493. Scheers, Lyon 935. Very rare. A sharp and particularly attractive example with a splendid obverse. Good very fine.
