BOEOTIA. Thebes. Circa 425-395 BC. Stater (Silver, 22 mm, 12.22 g). Boeotian shield. Rev. Θ-E Bearded head of Dionysos to right, wearing wreath of ivy. BCD Boiotia 443. SNG Copenhagen 282-284. A bright and lovely piece with a particularly elegant and noble head of Dionysos. Minor flan flaw on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
