ATTICA. Athens. Circa late 450s-440s BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 17.19 g, 1 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves and palmette. Rev. ΑΘE Owl standing right, head facing; to left, olive sprig and crescent; all within incuse square. Starr Group V.A, series 5. An exceptional, fresh and lustrous piece of enchanting transitional style. Virtually as struck.
